There are two KB6KQ Loop designs. The first design is based on a 1/2 wavelength element: Mechanically strong, good bandwidth, able to handle over 750 Watts, virtually impervious to the effects of rain and other of mother nature's attempts to detune them, these Loops are manufactured with the KB6KQ standard of excellence! The second design, available on 2M only at this revision, was developed with the base-station operator in mind: It is a full wavelength element, has the same power and performance in weather as the 1/2 wavelength design, with the added features of 1.2:1 SWR across the entire 2M band and an enhanced capture area.

STACKING LOOPS FOR INCREASED GAIN

The 2M Loops have been measured at 2.5dB gain for a single Loop, 4.5-4.6dB gain for a pair stacked 36" (just under 1/2 wavelength) apart, and 5dB for a pair stacked the recommended 48" (5/8 wavelength) apart. One should expect similar performance on all bands. Here is a chart of stacking distances for each band:
